Diwali will be celebrated on October 31, 2024 as the amavasya tithi will begin at 6.22 am on 31st october and ends at 8.46 am on 1st november.
While the Amawasya tithi lasts until the evening of 1st November, the night of 31st october is the only full amawasya night which is traditionally accurate and significant for Diwali puja . Therefore, 31st october is being considered more auspicious for 2024 Diwali celebrations and maximised blessings from Goddess Lakshmi as she is believed to descend to Earth during the amawasya night to bless the households.
