Does Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra cause any side effects if not chanted properly?

Does Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra cause any side effects? The thing is I haven’t been chanting it properly and don’t know the required rules as well. Will there be any aftermath since this mantra is for Lord Shiva’s fierce form. Scary!

See, Hinduism is a simple religion. It’s the people and mostly these pandits which came up with these rituals and customs. These customs are right to an extent.

However if you are willing to chant the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra you can chant it anytime, anyplace and anywhere. There are no side effects.
Mantra is no medicine.

In order to get best results from any Mantra, there are particular time frames mentioned in hindu scriptures by Rishis.

Brahma Murt ( from morning 4 am to 6 am) and during Sandhya (evening 5pm to 7pm) are the best periods of the day. This is the time you can sit and do your mantra jaap for better results.

Shiva is by far the most fierce and feared God and yet the most gullible and easy to please.
Loyal devotees might not agree with me but as far as I am concerned, you can talk to Shiva, recite his mantra and pray to him whenever you feel like.

Shiva is everywhere all the time, he is the darkness in the entire cosmos and he is the light that breaks in that darkness too. So you can think of him whenever you want to and in whatever way you wish to.

Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is a verse from the Rig Veda and is sung for the Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva. Keep in mind that the fierce form of Lord Shiva is for the destruction of all evil and not to punish devotees who chant and sing his praises.

These mantras and chants are efficient methods to activate the hidden cosmic energy that lies inactive in all of us. If recited casually, the effect of the mantra and the vibration that it can create is lost although with no bad effects.

Then the mantra is nothing but just simple text. But if recited with full focus and dedication, these mantras can raise your consciousness to a higher level and bring you closer to Shiva’s holy presence in this universe.
Om Namah Shivay!

First of all, the commonly heard Maha Mrityunjay Mantra is not even a real Mantra. Its just a prayer to Shiv which you can recite.
Also please understand that all the Mantras are nailed. They don’t have much effect unless you have been doing prayer for a long time and it’s powers are unlocked for you.
So the question of having any side effect whatsoever doesn’t arise.

Om Trayambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushti Vardhnam, Urvarukimev Bandhnaat Mrtityormukheeshya Maamrtaat.
Its a simple prayer to Shiva. And, there is no relation between this prayer and fierce form of Shiv. You can keep doing your prayers without thinking of the side effects.
